Hi there and welcome. My name's Andrew and I'm the guy organising A Middlehammer Tale. I live in Yorkshire in Northern England, up in the middle of nowhere on a farm with my wife and kids. I've been in the hobby, on and off, for nearly 30 years and it's brought me a lot of joy - hopefully this project gives something back to the community.

It's my hope that AMT will provide you with the motivation you need to paint your army, by helping you construct a narrative and immerse yourself in all aspects of the hobby. I'm also hoping that the painted models, conversions, terrain, art and creative writing this project produces will provide lots of content for the wider community to enjoy and generally make everyone's hobby a little richer.

I will try to make myself as available as possible, within the usual constraints that work and family place on us all. If you have suggestions, want to help out, or especially if you need help yourself then feel free to contact me. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

I hope you enjoy A Middlehammer Tale.

Best Regards,
Andrew

Hello,

My name is Glynn and I live in Ontario, Canada. I've been playing Warhammer in some form or another since I was 13 after a friend showed me the hobby.

I'm looking forward to taking part in the event!

Hi my name's Kerry. Based in Derbyshire, near Manchester. Been in the hobby about 23 years now. Very much enjoy collecting, building and converting models, but struggle to prioritise painting and so have a pretty extensive pile of shame, enough that 'of the pile of shame' is attached to my name on the WHFB discord.

Got a fair number of armies to choose from and will likely start with one of the Southlands armies I'm currently working on rules for.

My hobby table at present has a heap of white metal characters, some Zulus awaiting heads and a howdah in progress for a bastiladon.

Hi all, I'm Ben, based in the south west close to bristol/weston. I've been collecting for 30 years, only been playing smaller skirmish games like rangers of shadowdeep or necromunda for a while so it's good to get an actual army together.

Hi all,

I’m Charlie and I have been doing the hobby for the last 10 years or so. I worked for GW in central London for 3 years and that’s where I got back into the hobby with WHFB.

Took a break when AoS came along and I’m now getting back into things with Old World on the horizon.

I’ll be doing my Vampire Counts army for this project. Themed around undead rather than the vampires, led by a Necromancer known only as “The Bishop”.

First pledge is The Bishop and his congregation of 39x zombies! (help me) I’ll be using unit fillers to tell a story with the unit, graveyard bits and trees etc!

I’m going to try and paint them in a darker blanchistu style with washes which should be faster too!

I look forward to seeing everyone else’s projects!

Attached is the very beginnings of the unit.

My hobby instagram is:

@phoenicianspear

Charlie

Hello,

My name is Matt and I live in East/South-East England.

I mostly paint Chaos but for this I am painting Chaos Dwarfs!

I first discovered Warhammer Fantasy shortly before 4th Edition was released. The late-80s to mid-90s period of Warhammer and 40K is my favourite for miniatures.

Hi guys,

My name is Grunt and I live in southwest England.

I have been in the hobby for about 20 years and was a big fantasy player until aos came out.

I picked it up again a couple of years ago and have been attending some 8th edition fantasy events in Cardiff. I can't wait for the old world to release and am keen to get another army ticked off from the grey pile.

The slavering hordes of beastmen will be my army to get done with this!

I can't wait to see everyone else's creations. The narrative aspect really stands out to me. Thank you Andrew for organizing this!

Beat of luck,

Grunt

Hi all,

I'm Dave and I live in Oxfordshire. I was massively into the hobby when I was young but then stopped when I went to Uni. Was thinking for a while now of getting back into painting and this Middlehammer tale has been a great way to motivate myself to do it!

I inherited a couple of armies a while back, so I've decided to strip and repaint some 4th edition Orc and Goblins (I couldn't bring myself to strip my old Dwarf army!).

Looking forward to seeing everyone's projects come together! Thanks for organising it all Andrew!

Cheers,

Dave

Hi all,

my name is Yosef from Israel.

I have been collecting on and off for the last 20 years. How it has been lately is I get obsessed with a certain line and scoure eBay and trade groups to complete them as many as I can afford. Did that with many armies. The 2 last projects is a 1980s middle earth range and a mercenary hobgoblin/ half orcs.  I am going to be painting that second project, it has been difficult to sit down and just paint them. So going for them now.

Good morning! I am Peter, I live in Ireland, and have been around this hobby for a little over 30 years I think.

I have a huge backlog due to not painting very much for many years and hope to do something about that here.

I shall be painting mainly Mantic for this, and shall be looking to add to the 1000 points of Undead I painted about seven years ago.

Good to meet you all! And good luck to all!

Hi all!

Filip here, from Poland. I'd been playing 4th and 5th edition of WFB, then moved to other games, then sold my wfb army (oh, stupid me!), and now I'm thinking about having a painted Orc&Goblin army on my shelf and maybe even a game or two... Midlife crisis, you know... Anyway, I'll probably write more about my plans and goals in the WIP thread.

I do hope to find some motivation here and can't wait to see all these beautiful armies from you!

Da East Is Green!

My name is Casey, and I've been a GW addict since 1984. WFB/40K/Space Marine (40K Epic)/Blood Bowl/Warmaster were my drugs of choice. Even was a Hobby Store Manager in the mid 2000's.

I reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 🇺🇲

After getting priced out of the games, all me old minis went into storage for a later date.

Forward to last week when I discovered the Warhammer Renaissance group. Old school 90's Warhammer. Needless to say, I was back in and then found this group. Perfect timing.....
