Oh my, where to start...Β
WFB was my first miniature game, I've played 4th and 5th edition. My small gaming group moved to 40K just as the 6th edition was released. Unfortunately, I've sold my greenskins army some time ago. Stupid me, I know.Β
So now, as midlife crisis keeps hitting me as a runaway train, I came up with an idea to go back to WFB, mainly for sentimental reasons. 40K could have been a better game, but fantasy is my theme of choice (me being a WFRP fan as well). Some friends want the 5th edition, some 6th, we're looking at fan based projects like Flail of Skulls and Renaissance too. Whatever we choose, we decided to use 10mm scale due to space/time constraints that grown ups have πΒ
I got myself STL files from GreenSkinMiniature and printed an army in 12.5mm scale - I wanted minis to be as big as possible on half-sized bases (10mm/12.5mm for infantry models etc.).Β
This, however, will not be my Middlehammer tale, as I want to start playing asap. I don't want to wait till October till I have some war machines (or monsters, of whatever the last monthly theme will be). But, I've made some re-scaled test prints, they worked out fine, so I thought - why not make 2 armies, one for Minihammer and one for full-size WFB... 'Ere we go then...
Don't expect me to go fully narrative, make conversions, fancy bases and what not. I just want to re-build my army. Can't afford all original oldhammer minis, so 3d prints, simple paintjob and basing are my principles. I'll probably go with what I've used long time ago for my games. Morglum Necksnapper was my favourite special character at the time, so I'll try and build Waaagh Morglum over that half year period ahead.Β
For the first month I've chosen Morglum on his boar (obviously), Oglok the 'Orrible (another special character and Morglum's right-hand orc, and the only unit he can actually rely on - black orcs (20 with full command group). If I manage to paint quick enough, I might add something later.Β Β
These are printed at 200% original size. They are probably tad too small in comparison to original minis, but at least I can rank'n'file them without any problems.

Fantastic, mate. I'm all for nostalgia projects and it's great to have you aboard for this. Maybe you'll show us all your 10mm army when that's ready.
Thanks, Andrew. Sure, I can show progress on the 10mm army too π

First WIP pic π Not much going on thus far, I know, but - minis are primed now. That's some kind of a progress, right?
Decision time... Quick dirty, and gritty drybrush just to finish them qickly or maybe something cleaner, with bright colours and goblin green bases to match the 4/5th edition look and feel? Not sure yet which rout I will take.Β
